Negotiations were pursued on Wednesday and Thursday 11-12 May with the Norwegian Union of Industry and Energy Workers (IE) for the oil service agreement and the Norwegian Union of Energy Workers (Safe) on the well service agreement. Their wording is identical.
”Our concern is to achieve a responsible and moderate pay settlement in order to safeguard competitiveness, robustness and jobs in the industry, says Elisabeth Brattebø Fenne, director of organisation and employer policy and lead negotiator at Norwegian Oil and Gas.
“The lead sector produced a framework of 3.7 per cent for the 2022 collective pay settlement. That lays the basis for the other agreements in Norway’s labour market. We must all relate to this.”
A date for mediation will be set later.
This was the second of four collective pay agreements being negotiated by Norwegian Oil and Gas for employees in the petroleum sector. So far, talks on the offshore and oil service agreements have failed to find solutions. The two remaining sets of negotiations are the land base agreements on 18 May and the onshore agreements scheduled for 24 May.
